To express the meaning within the formal and non-formal transactional and interpersonal conversation accurately, fluently, and acceptably in daily life context
B. Basic Competence
To express the meaning within the formal and non-formal transactional and interpersonal conversation accurately, fluently, and acceptably using expressing: introduction, meeting, accepting an offer, happiness, amazement, and agreeing an invitation.
C. Indicators
• Students are able to express his/her happiness
• Students are able to respond within the expression
D. Material
Give some expressing of happiness :
- Oh, I'm so happy
- I can't say how please I am
- Great
- Fantastic
- It's an interesting experience

- I'm happy to hear that
CONVERSATION:

F. Technique
Teacher gives example how to expressing happiness and respond it. Then ask the student to repeat it .
Teaching Learning Activity
Pre activity (25 minutes)
- Teacher greets the class
- Teacher checks the attendance list
- Review the last meeting material
While Activity (50 minutes)
• Teacher asks student’s opinion about the expressing of happiness and asks them to give some example of those expression in short sentence and when the expression is going to use.
• Teacher gives some additional explanation of those expression.
• Teacher read the example of the expression and commands the student to repeat it.
• Teacher asks students to be in pair and practice the expressions.

Post Activity (15 minutes)
- Teacher asks the student’s problem and explain it.
- Teacher gives homework to make a dialogue.

Additional Activity
Playing games (60 minutes)
1. The Circle Game:
1. Teacher commands the students to have a seat in a circle.
2. Teacher asks the students to give some example of the expression of happiness and write it in the paper note . For example:
1. I am happy to hear that
2. that’s great
3. it’s really fantastic
3. Teacher reads those expressions in the middle of the students’ circle and comands them to repeat it.
4. Teacher asks one of the students to read the expressions randomly in 3 times and begins the circle game. The rules :
1. Teacher asks one of the student to repeat reading those expression after him then the teacher chose one of the student randomly that has some problems with those expression to come to the circle.
2. Teacher give the note that contains those expression to the choosen students and asks the choosen student to read it 3 times and begin the circle game.
3. at the first the teacher tells the choosen student how to read those
expressions and then that student read it meanwhile the other students keep quiet
4. in the second and third times the choosen student read the expression again and the other students repeat after him/her
5. then the teacher comands the choosen student to chose the other students randomly to repeat reading after him one by one until gets the replacement student.(only student that has some problems with the expression that will be the replacement student)

If you want to announce good news and attention, you can use the following expressions:

H. Teaching Activities
Pre-activity (15 minutes):
- Teacher greets the students, “Good Morning, Students? How’s the day?” and the students give the respond.
- Teacher checks the attendance list.
- Teacher asks the students randomly about what a good or bad news that they have heard yesterday and students give the respond.
Whilst activity (100 minutes):
- Teacher introduces the topic that will be learn
- Teacher gives the copied of dialog text to the students
- Teacher asks the students to read and listen the dialog carefully with their partner
- After they read the dialog, teacher asks the students to read the dialog aloud (If the teacher detects an error, teacher correct it and ask the students to repeat it).
- Teacher asks students to make some groups (4-5 students). One group as Lisa, and another group as Tom.
- Ask the students randomly to play the dialog with their partner in front of the class.
- Teacher asks some questions about the dialog and then students answer the questions orally.
- Teacher gives the second dialog and asks the students to read it.
- After they read, teacher asks students to work in pair to make the dialog longer using their own words.
- Teacher asks students to perform the dialog in from of the class.
Post Activity (20 minutes):
- Teacher Corrects the students’ pronunciation and ask them to repeat the words with good pronunciation
- Teacher reviews what the words are used to express the happiness & attention and offers & reply
- End the class
I. Evaluation
Form:
Students’ performance by making the dialog below longer using their own words. Then, play it in from of class with partner.
Tom : Mom, happy birthday! Look what I have for you!
Mom : Oh, fantastic! It’s nice bracelet.
Tom : It’s a great bracelet, isn’t it? I have saved my money for a month.
Mom : Thanks, Tom. I’m happy to hear that.
Scoring system:
a. Grammar : 10%
b. Pronunciation : 15%
c. Fluency : 20%
d. Accuracy : 35%
e. Performance : 20%

Pre activity :
1. Greeting and check attendant list
2. Brainstorming : Find out how much the students know about body parts. The teacher show the picture the parts of body or point a part of body and mention the name ( example: nose ). Students repeat words after the teacher.
3. Check the students’s understanding by get the students up and ask them to do the following:
“Point to your head.”
“Point to your nose.”
“Point to your stomach.”
“Point to your back.”
And so forth
While Activity :
1. The teacher point to a part of his/her body and ask students, “what is this ?”.The students should answer to whichever body part teacher point to.
2. Draw two pictures of a body on the board. Split the class into 2 teams. Give each student a marker. Tell your students to help each other. Ask students to write as many body parts on the board in 5 minutes as they can.
3. Give each student the pictures of parts of body, ask them to write down on their book using the sentence pattern “this is my . . .” ( example : this is my eyes ).Then teach student should read aloud their answers in front of the class.
Post activity :
1. The teacher ask the students about the problem in material and discuss again with the students.
2. The teacher give them evaluation and homework to do.

Technique :
1. Student copy and write Simple Past Tense sentences
2. Student translate the sentences from Indonesian to English and English to Indonesian
Instructional steps :
1. Pre-Activity (10 minutes)
· The teacher greets the students and students respond the greeting from the teacher
· The teacher ask the chairman of class to lead praying
· The teacher checks the student’s attendance list
· The teacher asks some student to mention verbs that usually use in situation that presented in book
2. While Activity (45 minutes)
· The teacher introduces the formula of simple past tense
· The teacher explains (in Indonesian) the usage as well as the importance of simple past tense
· Teacher give the example of simple past tense and their translation as well. Or, depending on the level of comprehension, teacher either calls randomly to have students translate the sentences or give them time to work quietly writing out the translation
Example:
1. He walked to school yesterday. (Dia pergi ke sekolah kemarin)
2. We sent the letter last week. (Kami mengirim surat minggu lalu)
3. They gave flowers to her mom. (Mereka member bunga untuk ibu nya)
4. I visited my grandmother house last year. (Saya mengunjungi rumah nenek saya tahun lalu)
5. Linda studied Biology. (Linda belajar Biologi)
· The teacher has to make sure that the students’ answer are correct
· The teacher explains (again in Indonesian) to students the change of the verb of the predicate
Examples:
1. Linda studied Biology. (Linda belajar biologi) The verb is changed from study become studied
2. He had dinner last night. (Dia makan malam tadi malam) The verb is changed from have become had
· Then, the teacher introduces a list of vocabulary and the equivalent translation in order that the students ca practice making sentences in simple past tense
· Students ask the material to the teacher if they don’t understand
· The teacher answer the question from the student
3. Post Activity (15 minutes)
· Teacher ask the student to write simple sentence
· Teacher give simple past tense in Indonesia and the students translate them to English sentences correctly
· The students do their exercise
· After the students finish, the teacher take the paper and collect them
· The teacher give motivation and suggestion to the students
