Level                   : 1^st Grade of Senior High School

Time Allocation: 45 minutes

Standard Competence

Express the meaning in the functional oral text and short simple monologue in the form of descriptive text to communicate in the around environment.

Basic Competence:

Express the meaning in short simple monologue using spoken language accurately, smoothly, and can be accepted to interact with around environment in descriptive text.

Indicator:

-         Students are able to describe someone

-         Students are able to mention the characteristic of the report text.

-         Students are able to respond the descriptive text in oral.

Method:

Contextual Teaching Learning ( CTL )

Teaching Learning Process:

-         Pre-Activity

1.      Teacher greets students

2.      Teacher checks the student’s attendance list.

3.      Teacher constructs the student’s knowledge by ask some questions.

ü      Do you have an idol?

ü      Who is your idol?

ü      What do you like from your idol?

ü      Have you ever told your Idol to your friends?

ü      How do you descriptive your idol?

-         While activity

1.  Teacher explains the material to be learnt, this is about report text.

2.  Teacher gives the example of descriptive text orally.

3.  Teacher asks some students to describe their idol ?

4.  Teacher divides class into some groups, which is consist three students every groups.

5. Teacher gives different picture for each group.

6.  Teacher asks students to discuses the picture in each group.

7.   Teacher asks a student from each group to describe their picture one by one and the other groups guess it.

8.      Teacher gives the homework.

-         Post activity

1.      Teacher asks student about what they have been learnt.

2.      Teacher asks students about the difficulty in understanding the lesson.

3.      Teacher gives the summary of the lesson.

4.      Teacher closes the meaning.

Materials:

Descriptive Text

Definition:

Description Text is a text to describe a particular person, place, or thing. It focuses on specific participants. The description includes parts, qualities, and characteristics.

Generic structure:

-         Identification: identifies phenomenon to be described.

-         Description: describe parts, quality, and characteristic.

Language feature:

-         The use of linking verb or relating verb

-         The use of simple present tense

-         The use of degree comparison

Evaluation:

Scoring system:

-  For the correct pronouncing, good fluency, and little the incorrect sentences (accuracy) the score is 80

-  For the little mistakes in using sentences, little mistake in using sentences, little mistake in pronouncing, good enough fluency the score is 70.

- For the little mistakes in pronouncing, with good enough fluency, but there are many mistakes in using sentences the score in 60.

- For the less pronouncing, less fluency, and there are many mistakes in using sentences the score is 50

Homework

Find the picture of your idol, and than describe your idol. ( it will be presentation )
